Sellersville Theater presents “Late Nite Catechism: Summer School,” by Maripat Donovan in two shows Saturday, July 27. Showtimes are 4 and 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at the box office, 215-257-5808.
The off-Broadway comedy hit “Late Nite Catechism,” which was nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award in New York and recently won the L.A. Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Lead Performance for Maripat Donovan, is currently playing in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, St. Louis, Vancouver, Scottsdale, New Orleans, Los Angeles and Chicago, where it has been playing to full “classes” since it opened in 1993.
In this version of the international comedy hit, a summer school catechism course is offered for those students who weren’t paying attention all year. Instead of three relaxing weeks at the motherhouse, Sister is stuck with her students this summer. Sister will discuss such questions as, “Did Jesus have to go to summer school? or “What is an appropriate summer vacation for a practicing Catholic?” And she’s sure to talk about the best way to make use of what’s left of your summer vacation.
The Sellersville Theater is located at 24 West Temple Avenue in Sellersville, Bucks County, just off Route 309 between Quakertown and Montgomeryville.
