The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is sponsoring a Walking Pilgrimage of Faith Sunday, Oct. 13, to the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul to celebrate the Year of Faith. Groups are welcome to make their own trip or make their way to one of seven landing sites from which they can walk with other groups to the cathedral.
The walk to the cathedral from the seven locations range in length from 1.4 miles to 6.3 miles, depending on the starting point. Departure times also vary based on the length of the intended pilgrimage. Participants are invited to arrive at the cathedral around 4 p.m. for free refreshments, followed by Eucharistic Adoration with praise and worship music, plus the sacrament of penance beginning at 5 p.m.
The event culminates with Mass at 6:30 p.m. with Archbishop Charles Chaput as principal celebrant.
