SS. Colman-John Neumann School, Bryn Mawr, is planning its second annual “Saints Stomp” 5K and one-mile fun run and walk Saturday, Oct. 19. More than 250 runners and walkers are expected to traverse the Coopertown neighborhood of Bryn Mawr.
This year’s Stomp features a fun course for runners and walkers at all levels, gift baskets and other exciting giveaways, T-shirts for all participants, plus a food truck and pumpkins and mums for sale.
Runners and walkers can register for this year’s Stomp by visiting the online registration page. Race day activities will feature music, fun, family entertainment, fall decorations for sale and a variety of giveaways and exciting raffle prizes. All participants will receive a limited-edition race/walk T-shirt.
Proceeds will go toward funding a new toddler-friendly outdoor playground for the school’s new pre-kindergarten program for 3- and 4-year-old children. The program is the first of its kind offered at SS. Colman-John Neumann, and is already popular with local families.
The playground will feature age-appropriate equipment and a child-friendly playground base. Sponsors are still needed for the race, and should contact John Figge, lead race organizer, at jofigge@gmail.com.
The inaugural Saints Stomp last year was wildly successful, raising thousands of dollars to benefit the school’s expansion effort for a new parish life center, including a new state-of-the-art gymnasium, new pre-kindergarten classrooms for 3- and 4-year-old children and additional classrooms and meeting space.
