Christ the King Parish in Northeast Philadelphia will offer a parish mission for the Year of Mercy from Sunday, Feb. 21 through Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the church in the Morrell Park neighborhood, Morrell Avenue and Chesterfield Road, Philadelphia.
The “Bible-fed and Spirit-led” mission’s theme is “With the Lord, There is Mercy and Fullness of Redemption.”
It will be led by Redemptorist Father Maurice J. Nutt, director of the Institute for Black Catholic Studies at Xavier University in Louisiana. He was formerly a member of the Redemptorist mission preaching team and a parish pastor.
He will speak at all Masses at Christ the King the weekend preceding the mission, including Saturday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 21 at 8 and 10 a.m., and 12 noon.
The mission begins at 4 p.m. on the 21st and continues at 7 p.m. each night on the 22nd and 23rd of February.
