Holy Cross Regional Catholic School in Collegeville recently inducted student officers and classroom representatives elected into its student council.
Eighth graders inducted as Student Council officers include Jack Brosius, commissioner of religious affairs; Hanna Tulli, commissioner of school spirit; Isabella Ricevuto, treasurer; Veronica Charyna, secretary; Kathryn Phillips, vice president and Justin Machita, president.
For each homeroom there are two classroom representatives in grades five through eight. Student Council members regularly visit the kindergarten through fourth grade classrooms with updates from the monthly Student Council meetings.
As part of the induction ceremony, each member received a pin, lit a candle and recited an oath, in unison. The candles held by the representatives represent the Christ-like spirit of the school.
Principal Theresa Healy asked the students to keep the spirit alive throughout the school year as they fulfill their obligation to the school, students and teachers.
