Sister Joan Marie Keegan, S.S.J. (formerly Sister Agnes Thomas), died May 20 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. She was 84 years old and in the 67th year of her religious life.
Daughter of Thomas and Mary Ward Keenan, she was born in Philadelphia and entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill from St. Edmond Parish in September 1950. Sister Joan was a teacher in the dioceses of Allentown, Camden and Harrisburg, and the archdioceses of Newark and Philadelphia.
She was the sister of Ronald Keenan and the late William, Thomas, Richard Keenan, Regina Weigner, Marie Faulls, Ruth Belzes, Rosemary Anderson and Dorothy Joseph. Survived also by nieces, nephews, cousins and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Her funeral Mass was celebrated May 24 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown.
