For those of us who are “up in years” and without family/close friends, summertime, along with any major holidays, are very lonely. It has gotten to the point that I can’t wait for them to be over so that the depression passes. Life does get harder without being able to celebrate such times as we did in our youth, especially for devout homosexual Catholics.
