Old St. Joseph’s Church will host Lenten choral Vespers on Sunday, Mar. 31 from 4-5 p.m.

Under the direction of Dr. Mark Bani, the parish’s choir will chant the antiphons and psalms appointed for the day. In addition, the choir will sing a selection from the late Georgian period, “The Wilderness,” by Samuel Sebastian Wesley,  as well as Herbert Sumsion’s lyrical setting of the Magnificat in G Major.

Organ music will include Brahms’ of “O Sadness, O Heart Sorrow” and Buxtehude’s setting of “O Sacred Head Surrounded.”

A free will offering will be gratefully accepted. All are cordially invited to join in this ancient prayer of the church, the Divine Office.
