Sister Margaret Rastatter, R.S.M., died peacefully July 9 at McAuley Convent in Merion at the age of 92. She was a member of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas.
Sister Margaret taught in both elementary and secondary education in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She was the studies director at Archbishop Ryan High School where she worked diligently to honor the academic needs of faculty and students. She always spoke fondly of her many years as vice-principal at Little Flower High School.
Sister Margaret loved to travel and was always happy to explore new places. She was a gentle, loving person whose kindness and patience were especially lavished on the care staff of McAuley Convent where she retired.
The funeral Mass was celebrated July 16 at the Chapel at the Convent of Mercy and burial followed in the community cemetery.
