St. William Parish will present the Constantia vocal ensemble in concert on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. in the parish’s handicapped-accessible lower church.
The group’s members, who attend Holy Angels Parish in Philadelphia, have developed a rich, robust sound that resonates well with audiences. “Hail Mary, Gentle Woman” has become a signature piece for the ensemble, with performances often evoking tears among listeners.
Other selections on the program include Palestrina’s “Sanctus,” Bruckner’s “Locus Iste,” Parsons’ “Ave Maria,” and Pote’s “Prayer of St. Francis.”
In addition, the group will present favorites such as Ennio Morricone’s “Nella Fantasia” and the popular ballad “Danny Boy.”
Admission to the concert is free, but an offering will be taken up, and light refreshments will follow the performance.
Ample free parking is available in the parish’s lots.
St. William Parish is located at 6200 Rising Sun Avenue in Philadelphia. For more information about the concert series, visit Facebook or call the parish rectory at 215-745-1389.
