The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is launching a novena to St. Joseph this month during the year that Pope Francis has dedicated to meditating on the saintly foster father of Jesus and husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Beginning on March 19 and extending through November on the 19th of each month, everyone is invited to unite in a single petition of confident prayer to the Lord through the heavenly intercession of St. Joseph.

The novena can be prayed in any setting, especially before or after Mass but not as a part of the liturgy, at parish meetings, in the classroom and in the family home.

A special archdiocesan prayer intention is included with the novena for each month.
