Sister Mary Dolores Sneeringer, S.S.J. (formerly Sister St. Ida), age 94, died April 17 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown.
The daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Sneeringer, she attended St. Joseph Grade School in Bonneauville, Pa. and Delone Catholic High School.
In September 1945 she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1953.
Sister Mary Dolores ministered in the archdioceses of Philadelphia and Washington and the dioceses of Charlotte and Harrisburg.
She is survived by her siblings Benjamin Sneeringer, Bernard Sneering, Justina Meckley and the late Rodney Sneeringer, Frank Sneeringer, Anna Miller, Loretta Orndorff and Rita Walter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
Services are private but will be livestreamed from St. Joseph Villa’s website at www.stjosephvilla.org on Monday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m.
