Middle-school age boys gathered for a day of activities, talks and prayer at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary April  9 designed to help them learn to hear God’s call to priesthood. Read all about the camp here. (Photos by Jillian Minnich)

  • Seminarian Alex Cross talks to the boys about practical ways to discern God’s will in one’s own life.

  • The opening talk of the day introduced St. Joseph, his vocation and his life of virtue, led by former pro baseball player Brett Illig.

  • The boys create crosses in a carpentry activity that might make St. Joseph proud.

  • Camp participants take a reflective walk to the Upper Side of St. Charles Seminary.

  • The boys embark on a scavenger hunt at the seminary.

  • As part of the day’s activities, a seminarian portrays St. Joseph, and the boys trace some of the aspects of his life through Scripture.

  • The boys build a tent, symbolizing the work of St. Joseph while on the run with his family.

  • The campers get a tour of St. Martin’s Chapel at the seminary, as part of the scavenger hunt.

  • Camp participants, seminarians and others enjoy lunch together.
