The Catholic Leadership Speaker Series presents its next event on Wednesday, May 18 from 4 to 5 p.m. in a virtual format with Marisally Santiago and Matt Davis, leaders of the ministry with youth in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The event is sponsored by the Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia.

Titled “Engaging Youth and Young Adults in the Church Today,” the speakers will discuss common misconceptions that hinder our ability to effectively reach and engage youth and young adults in the church and offer new perspectives to help us rethink and reimagine how we as church engage our young people.

Data from research, real-life examples and practical steps will be shared.

Their presentation will draw from “Christus Vivit,” Pope Francis’ letter following the Synod Bishops on Young People, Faith, and Vocational Discernment. They will also refer to the National Dialogue Report which offers the conclusions to the National Dialogue on Catholic Pastoral Ministry with Youth and Young Adults.

Listening to understand, relationship-building and collaboration will be highlighted as key pastoral approaches.

Santiago is the director of the archdiocesan Office for Ministry with Youth, and Davis is the director of the Office for Ministry with Young Adults.

Register here for the event at no cost.
