St. John Chrysostom Parish in Wallingford marked its 70th anniversary Sept. 11.
Led by Fr. Edward J. Hallinan, only its sixth pastor since 1952, the parish celebrated with a packed anniversary Mass that honored a number of members who had been with the parish for more than 50 years, including three who were original and lifelong parishioners from the day the parish opened.
A family celebration followed in the gym, with several hundred parishioners enjoying refreshments and fellowship while the kids enjoyed a live puppet show by Segal Puppet Theater, animals from Barn Hill Preserve, a moon bounce and more.
The parish also took the occasion to release a new video (https://youtu.be/JD-Hr3in9aw),
now available on St. John’s YouTube channel, Facebook and Instagram.
