Bishop Robert P. Maginnis, retired Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, passed into eternal life Sept. 14, 2022, leaving a legacy of pastoral ministry that touched thousands.

The future Bishop Maginnis was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on May 13, 1961 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul by John Cardinal Krol in the first class of priests he ordained as Archbishop of Philadelphia.
The future Bishop Maginnis entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood in 1952, earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theological Studies and a Master of Divinity Degree.
