Pope Francis’ Apostolic Letter, Motu proprio “Aperuit illis,” published on Sept. 30, 2019, established that “the Third Sunday in Ordinary Time is to be devoted to the celebration, study, and dissemination of the Word of God.”
The Sunday of the Word of God deserves special attention this year with the Holy Father’s recent invitation to provide more serious and vital liturgical formation (see DD, 6-29-22) and also as we continue to deepen our focus on the celebration of Mass with the Eucharistic Revival.
A great variety of resources in English and Spanish are available for Sunday, January 22, 2023, the observance of the Sunday of the Word of God at Sunday of the Word of God | USCCB.
