Annie Sarlo has been named Director of Spirituality and Mission for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Secondary Schools and Schools of Special Education by Archbishop Nelson Pérez, according to a August 7 announcement from the archdiocesan Office for Catholic Education. The appointment becomes effective August 14.
In this role, Sarlo will collaborate with the Vicar of Faith Formation for Youth and Young Adults and the Superintendent of Secondary Schools and Schools of Special Education to cultivate and grow a culture of Missionary Discipleship within the 15 High Schools and three Schools of Special Education.

Sarlo brings over 30 years of experience in Catholic ministry to her new role. She most recently served the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Institute for Evangelization as a Parish Renewal Specialist.
Prior to that time, she served the Diocese of Allentown in various positions including Deputy Secretary for Evangelization and Formation, Secretary for Catholic Life and Evangelization, and Director of Youth Ministry, Schuylkill Region. She also spent 10 years in Missionary work serving the Apostolate for Family Consecration in the Philippines.
Sarlo will complete her Master of Arts in Theology from Augustine Institute this fall. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University.
In addition, she holds several certifications including a Certification in the Apostolate of Young Adults and Campus Ministry from Franciscan University of Steubenville and has completed coursework in Conversational Spanish and Speed Spanish from Frederick Community College in Maryland.
