St. Joseph Parish in Aston is partnering with Holy Family Regional Catholic School and Gian Milles, M.S., to offer a presentation to parents and caregivers about the ins-and-outs of raising teenagers.
Milles will be giving his presentation, Tips to Navigating Teens in the 21st Century, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the Delaware County parish. The event is free and open to the general public. It includes a question-and-answer session directly following the presentation.
According to a Jan. 2023 Pew research study focusing on parenting in America, mental health concerns topped the list of worries for parents with most saying being a parent is harder than they expected.
The Tuesday-night presentation will provide parents and caregivers with the tools they need for fruitful interaction with teens and pre-teens. Topics covered will include fitting in, day-to-day struggles, cyberbullying, relating to your teen, and more.
Milles is a psychotherapist at Integrity Counseling Services with specialties including treatment of addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression, and more. He obtained his M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University, and his B.A. in Psychology from Temple University.
Milles, who is trained in Catholic theology, philosophy, and secular counseling, has experience with mentoring young adults and working with addiction.
His mission is to bring modern counseling theories and techniques into harmony with the wisdom of the Church in a way that provides powerful healing experiences to people in need of these types of professional services.
St. Joseph Church is located at 3255 Concord Road in Aston, PA. For more information, please visit the parish website.
