Sister Elaine Cullen SSJ, (formerly Sister James Ellen), age 84, died February 10, 2024.
The daughter of the late James and Helen (nee Frick) Cullen, she attended St. Ursula Grade School and Bethlehem Catholic High School.
In September 1957 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1965.

Sister Elaine ministered in the Dioceses of Allentown and Philadelphia.
Sister of the late James Cullen, Beverly Stevens, Mary Gibbons, Bernadine Edwards, Kathleen Chrismer, Dolores Gledhill, Edward Cullen, Patricia Cullen, SSJ and Thomas Cullen, she is survived by countless loving nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nieces, great grand nephews and their spouses, as well as members of her community, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown. Services will be livestreamed at www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave. Flourtown, PA 19031.
