Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia’s Hunting Park neighborhood has received an $80,000 planning grant from the Connelly Foundation to develop a Women’s Leadership Institute and Service Center.
The proposed four-year program would integrate faith, service, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and career readiness into the student experience through hands-on learning opportunities.
The grant will support curriculum development, collaborative learning space planning, and the initiative’s long-term sustainability. Additional funding and community support, including mentorship and professional partnerships, will be needed to fully implement the program, school officials said.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Connelly Foundation for believing in Little Flower’s students, faculty, and staff and investing in this next chapter,” said Kristie Hughes Dugan, president of Little Flower and a member of the Class of 1992.
