Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez has appointed Jason Sorgini as chief human resources officer for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, effective Jan. 4, 2027.

Announcing the appointment, Archbishop Pérez said Sorgini’s experience in human resources and educational leadership, along with his strong Catholic faith, will serve the archdiocese well as it continues its mission in parishes, schools, and ministries across the region.

Sorgini most recently served as assistant superintendent for the Methacton School District in Montgomery County and previously was principal of Methacton High School, both roles involving significant human resources responsibilities.

Sorgini said he looks forward to supporting the employees who serve the archdiocese and fostering a mission-centered, people-centered workplace grounded in dignity, respect and compassion. He added that a key priority will be listening to employees and helping ensure they have the resources and support needed to carry out their work effectively.

He holds degrees from Gwynedd Mercy University, Villanova University, and Shippensburg University, along with a postdoctoral certificate from California University of Pennsylvania.

Sorgini and his wife, Elizabeth, are extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion at Visitation B.V.M. Parish in Trooper, where they attend with their three sons.
