Roman baseball standouts commit to Division III colleges

Kyle Rogalski and Joe Myers, pitcher and shortstop, respectively, for Roman Catholic High School, will sign letters of intent to play baseball at two colleges in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

St. Hubert’s student wins poetry contest

Sarah Smolnicki of St. Hubert High School won first place, and was the only winner from a Catholic school, in the Ryerss Museum and Library Poetry Contest.

Aston students learn about healthy eating at home and school

During an activity March 14, seventh-grade students of St. Francis de Sales School in Aston planned and prepared a meal based on recommendations by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The students also created informational displays of the nutritional value of the meal.

Lecture on leading Catholic philosopher presented this week

A lecture series on Elizabeth Anscombe, a prominent 20th century philosopher, will begin March 19 at the University of Pennsylvania. It follows last week's event on Anscombe held at Neumann University.

Travis Gaskill, an eighth grader at St. Francis de Sales School in Aston, Delaware County, was awarded a scholarship by the Connolly Foundation. He will attend Cardinal O'Hara High School.
