  1. I must say that God has blessed my whole family by allowing us to have Rev. Msgr Philip H Cribbon to be our Pastor. Msgr. Cribbon is one of the most wonderful Priests that I have ever known. There is a list of those who I have had of the ‘cream of the crop’ and have been blessed to know. Rev. Msgr. Richard J. Wright, Msgr. Patrick Sweeney, Father John McFaddan.
Bishop McGinnis. So many priests who have given their whole life to enrich the Church and truly be Christ-like. I would not want to hurt any Priests feelings but I could never name all of the Priests who are so wonderful. I truly believe that this age thing for retirement should be changed. We cannot replace these Priests, they are true Apostles.

  2. Dear Archbishop Chaput -

I don’t understand why St. Joseph Parish, Collingdale, is losing Fr. Michael Reilly as our pastor after having him beginning a rebuild of our parish for less than 3 years. We have been through a lot the past few years especially with the closing of our parish school and problems stemmed by that with the former. Fr. Reilly is trying to get the community of St. Joe’s back, recently starting and coaching a volleyball program for our youth. It seems that we continue to be kicked down. How many times can we get back on our feet? I respectfully ask why, and hope that our parishioners don’t lose heart once again. It says a lot when Fr. Reilly was in tears after announcing this to his parish after each Mass this weekend and the number of people who waited afterward to speak with him. How much must one parish take?

    • Fr. Reilly was given a huge task and put all his energy into it and he made St. Joseph what it once was, an active, vibrant parish. I feel bad for the faithful who had to deal with a difficult pastor to a pastor who really cares for his people. I hope that all his hard work is not in vain!

  3. i agree with Marykay Klara. We at St Josephs went thru 10 years with a pastor that ran a thriving, welcoming, beautiful place to worship into a cold empty building. All the petions and complaints to the archdiosce went unanswered. Our hearts were broken when the school closed. Father Reilly has been a breath of fresh air and has worked hard to make it once again a clean, bright beautiful and warm place to worship. The Church has been cleaned and polished for the first time in years and just shines. We had forgotten just how good our church could look. He has organized many activities to bring the people including the youth back to St. Joesephs. He has put his heart and soul into this parish and it is bringing people back. He deserves to stay and enjoy the fruits of his labor. Losing him just feels like another slap in the face by the Archdiocese and we laity in the pews are getting tired of turning the other cheek.

  4. Best Wishes to Msgr. Philip Cribben as he retires. Thank you for your life as a priest. Wishing you many years of quiet time.

  5. I was so happy when I read Marykay Klara’s comment followed by Dianne McGuigan. In my 48 years in St. Joseph’s Parish, Collingdale, I have seen priests come and go and each time I made myself believe that it was for the good of the parish or that the vacating priest had something to offer to his new parish. Citing Marykay, I would love to know why Fr. Michael Reilly was taken from our parish especially when he was in the middle of doing great things for the parish. I was shocked to hear the announcement on Sunday and my prayers go with Fr. Reilly. Hopefully there is a very good reason for this change.

  6. To the parishioners at the newly merged St John the Baptist in Philadelphia you are very lucky to have Father Kletzel as your incoming Pastor. He will be missed very much by St Titus in Norristown. You could not have a better person for that church than Father Kletzel

  7. Where is the news that Fr Leonard Peterson- from St Maria Goretti Parish – was fully – completely exonerated for any inappropriate actions? You were fast enough to removed all information on him from Church Bulletins when he was named to the list of 27. Where is the justice that this man who devoted his whole life to the Church is now vindicated.
