Readers of last week’s Profile page in the Catholic Standard & Times met Claire Sullivan McCloskey, who was still active in her beloved St. Cecilia Parish in Philadelphia, just shy of her 92nd birthday.

Her story was prepared in time for the newspaper’s Tuesday night deadline but by the time the paper arrived in homes on Thursday, Mrs. McCloskey had passed away. Her family informs that her death was unexpected.

We’re proud to have given Catholics a small glimpse into her long, faithful life. We invite readers to join our staff’s prayers for her and condolences for her family. Grant her eternal rest, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
