Visitation B.V.M. School, Norristown, hosts the following events during and before Catholic Schools Week:
Wednesday, Jan. 23
School Spelling Bee Final will be held in the gym at 1 p.m.
Saturday, Jan. 26
Student representatives will lector and present the offertory gifts at the 5:15 p.m. Mass. After Mass the art fair is open.
Sunday, Jan. 27
Student representatives will lector and present the offertory gifts at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses. The art fair is open 8 a.m. through 2 p.m. A tour of the school for prospective parents will be held at 1:30 p.m.
Monday, Jan. 28
An open house for parents and prospective parents will be held from 9 to 11 a.m.
Tuesday, Jan. 29
Extend Kindness Day — Students and teachers will prepare pages with acts of kindness in memory and in honor of the victims ofSandy Hook,Conn.This booklet will forwarded to the school inMonroe,Conn.(Our younger students will not receive explanation of the event. They will be told it is for people who need the intention.)
Tuesday, Jan. 29
Teachers will switch roles and classes from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
Spirit Day and Appreciation Day — Students may dress down in blue and white colors and accessories with usual “dress down” day guidelines.
Morning hours – Class religion bees
12:30 p.m. – Early dismissal
Students will receive a treat from the Home and School Association.
Thursday, Jan. 31
Special science show — “The Magic of Chemistry”
9 a.m. – Pre-K through grade 4
10 a.m. – Grades 5-8
1 p.m. – Religion bee finals for grades 6, 7 and 8
Friday, Feb. 1
9 a.m. – Closing Mass and First Friday (upper church)
1 p.m. – Ice cream sundaes in paired grades.
