More than 200 volunteers from St. Monica Parish in Berwyn will help combat hunger around the world on Sunday afternoon, March 15 as they participate in Helping Hands, a meal-packing program developed by Catholic Relief Services and Stop Hunger Now.
CRS will drop off several large palettes of food which volunteers will break down into smaller portions for 10,000 nutritious meal bags.
CRS will distribute the bags to needy men, women and children in the West African country of Burkina Faso suffering from food shortages and famine, and will educate the volunteers about the people and country they are helping.
This event is organized by the Catholic Young Adults of Chester County.
