Father Chuck’s Challenge, which builds homes and develops villages for families in need in Latin America, will dedicate it’s 1,000th home built in Nicaragua on June 16.
A 12-member group will travel to Nicaragua for the dedication during a trip June 15-20.
The locally based charity not only constructs the homes, but also provides clean water, sanitation facilities, a community center, furniture, tools for farming, livestock, and fruit trees to families.
Since 2007, the clergy and lay people in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia have donated $4.7 million toward this charity.
Father Chuck’s Challenge is dedicated to the memory and ministry of Father Charles Pfeffer, an archdiocesan priest who died in 2004.
