Sister Helen Patricia Feeley, S.S.J. (formerly Sister Maria Infanta), died Feb. 11 in St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. She was 81 years old and in the 63rd year of her religious life.
The daughter of James Joseph Feeley and Anna Marie Mullaney, Sister Helen attended Holy Child Grade School and St. Mary Academy, both in Philadelphia.
In September 1954 she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph Chestnut Hill and professed final vows in 1962.
She ministered as a teacher, director of religious education and religious education consultant in the archdioceses of Philadelphia, Baltimore and Newark and the dioceses of Allentown, Arlington, Camden and Trenton.
In 2012, Sister Helen continued her ministry of prayer and presence at St. Joseph Villa until her death.
She was the sister of the late Patricia Bernice Feeley, Anna Cairns (William), John Edward Feeley and James Joseph Feeley (Mary Jane). She is survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and members of her community, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Feb. 16.
