Sister Grace Marie Stankiewicz, I.H.M., died March 7 in Camilla Hall, Immaculata in the 60th year of her religious life. She was 77 years old.
Born in Shenandoah, Pa., Sister Grace entered the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in 1957 from St. Casimir Parish in Shenandoah and professed her vows in 1960.
She served in the elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, the Dioceses of Arlington and Metuchen and various parishes in the Diocese of Allentown for nearly 20 years.
The funeral Mass was celebrated March 11 at Camilla Hall. The celebrant and homilist was Father William E. Dean.
Sister Grace is survived by members of her religious community, her sisters Valerie Sajone and Eileen Fluharty and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents, August and Violet Stankiewicz, a sister, Barbara Boris, and brothers-in-law Anthony Sajone and Sunny Fluharty.
