Members of the St. Charles Senior Community Center in South Philadelphia recently proved that you can make your own rules about fashion — and about getting older.
More than 100 seniors gathered for the center’s fifth annual “White Party and Garden Cabaret” on Sept. 21, enjoying an afternoon of dining and dancing in their best white attire.
The nationally accredited center, one of four operated by archdiocesan Catholic Housing and Community Services, provides hundreds of seniors with opportunities for socialization, exercise, personal development and nutritional support.
As one attendee asked with a wink, “Who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day?”
