Sister Marian L. Steiner, S.S.J. (formerly Sister St. George), died Dec. 4 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown. She was 94.
Daughter of the late George and Bridget Steiner, she was born in Harrison, N.J., and attended Holy Cross Grade School in Harrison and Good Counsel High School in Newark, N.J. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph in September 1943 and professed her final vows in August 1951.
Sister Marian ministered in the dioceses of Allentown and Trenton, and the archdioceses of Baltimore, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
She is the sister of the late Margaret O’Kane and Agnes Anderson. She is survived by nieces, nephew and members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Dec. 10 at St. Joseph Villa.
