The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia is sponsoring a virtual celebration on the vigil for Pentecost, in which the church commemorates the gift of the Holy Spirit, on Saturday, May 30 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The event will be livestreamed at PhillySpirit.com and feature praise and worship, talks and a healing service.

Archbishop Nelson Perez is the keynote speaker. Kathleen McCarthy, president of InHisSign Network, will lead the healing service and Father Dennis Gill will offer a reflection. Music will be led by Martha’s House Music Ministry.

The celebration will be followed by the extended Pentecost Vigil Mass (see the readings here) at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul celebrated by Father Gill, rector of the cathedral, at 8 p.m. livestreamed and broadcast to a national audience on EWTN, the global Catholic television network.

During the restrictions posed by the coronavirus pandemic, the archdiocesan Charismatic Renewal has turned to online meetings via the Zoom videoconference platform. Several prayer meetings currently are held online each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

A virtual retreat is planned for June 26-28 at Malvern Retreat House featuring Father Bill Halbing and Antone Raymundo.
