Sister Kathleen Anne McKee, R.S.M., a member of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy, died Nov. 19 at age 88.
Sister Kathleen Anne taught primary grades at St. Malachy School and Holy Cross School in the Philadelphia Archdiocese and Infant of Prague School in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Diocese of Raleigh. She also served as principal of Gwynedd Mercy Academy Lower School for girls in Gwynedd Valley.
It was, however, her almost 30 years at Waldron Mercy Academy, especially with “her boys” that was dearest to her heart.
During her years at the academy Sister Kathleen Anne helped establish the Development Office, in particular connecting alumni to the school. She stayed connected with many graduates and attended funerals of past students and their family members.
A deeply prayerful woman, she was loyal and caring to family and friends. Her quiet and unassuming way, her ability to connect with others and her love of her Irish roots endeared her to all.
The funeral Mass was celebrated Nov. 24 at the Convent of Mercy in Merion. Burial was the following day at the Convent of Mercy Cemetery, Merion.
