Sister Frances Antoinette Engler, S.S.J. (the former Rosemary Frances Engler), age 80, died Aug. 5.

The daughter of the late Anthony and Frances (nee Meiswich) Engler, she attended St. William School, Philadelphia and St. Mary’s Academy.

In September 1959 she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1967. Sister Frances ministered in the Dioceses of Camden and the archdioceses of Newark and Philadelphia.

She is survived by cousins and the members of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Joseph.

The funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 12 at St. Joseph Villa, Flourtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Archbishop Ryan High School Development Office, 11201 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154 in Sister Frances’ name would be appreciated.
