Reverend Edward A. Pelczar, Retired, Resident, Little Flower Manor, Darby, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.

Father Pelczar was born on January 20, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Walter C. Pelczar and Irene Jalosinska. Father Pelczar attended Saint John Cantius Parochial School, Philadelphia and Northeast Catholic High School for Boys, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Pelczar was ordained on May 19, 1962, at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by Most Reverend John J. Krol. Father Pelczar served as Parochial Vicar, Saint Madeline Parish, Ridley Park; Saint Adalbert Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Francis De Sales Parish, Lenni; Saint Josaphat Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Isidore Parish, Quakertown; Saint Ephrem Parish, Bensalem; Saint Anne Parish, Philadelphia; Saint Aloysius Parish, Pottstown; and Saint Titus Parish, Norristown. He also served as Pastor, Saint Ladislaus Parish, Philadelphia, from 1976-1978. He served as Chaplain, Saint Joseph’s Manor, and Temple University Hospital. In 2012 retired from active ministry.

The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint John Cantius Church, Philadelphia on October 26, 2022, at 9:30 AM, followed by a viewing. Most Reverend. Edward M. Deliman will celebrate the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend John F. Babowitch, and Leonard Lewandowski, will be the homilist.

Father Pelczar is survived by his niece and nephew. Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Philadelphia
