Catholic Social Services’ Northeast Family Service Center (NEFSC) distributed full Thanksgiving meals to 20 families in the local community Nov. 21. The meals were provided by the Philadelphia Lodge #5 Fraternal Order of Police Michael the Archangel Ministry. This is the sixth consecutive year CSS and the Michael the Archangel Ministry have teamed up to help those in need.
Families received turkey, sides, and pumpkin pie along with canned goods and fresh vegetables donated by Nutritional Development Services, an agency of the archdiocese.
Juniors from Saint Hubert Catholic High School For Girls’ Community Service Corps were on hand to assist with the event.
CSS also received 10 Thanksgiving dinners from Philadelphia Councilmember Mike Driscoll’s office as well as 28 Turkeys and gift cards from Philabundance to distribute to area families.
