Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez joined clergy, consecrated religious and lay faithful Tuesday evening, Sept. 15, at the Sacré Coeur Perpetual Adoration Shrine at St. Denis Parish in Havertown for Mass, Eucharistic adoration and veneration of the first-class relics of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.
The relics of the French saint, who played a central role in promoting devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, were available for veneration Sept. 14-15 during their visit to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The Knights of Columbus helped bring the relics to the United States from France. Their visit followed the consecration of the United States to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus earlier this summer. (Photos by Dan Tarrant)
