Pilgrims from throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia gather each year to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe on the eve and on her Feast Day, Dec. 12.

A pilgrim prays at the altar of Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is the Patroness of the Americas, Unborn Children, and the New Evangelization. Her message of love, mercy, and concern has brought the faithful closer to Jesus throughout the Americas.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will celebrate the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s annual Mass honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe on the eve of her feast day Sunday, Dec. 11. at 9:00 p.m. (8:30 p.m. procession) at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

The Hispanic Choir of Philadelphia, a multi-parish Archdiocesan choir, will provide musical accompaniment.

Damaris Thillet, sacred music recording artist, composer, conductor, and Director of the Office of Divine Worship for  the Diocese of Albuquerque, will return to Philadelphia to conduct the Hispanic Heritage Choir again this year.

Our Lady of Guadalupe Aztec Dance Troop from Saint Charles Borromeo Parish and Our Lady of Fatima Worship Site in Bensalem will also be participating in the Mass. The group will perform wearing traditional Aztec outfits.

Following Communion, several images of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be carried by faithful from across the City of Philadelphia down the central aisle to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine.
