Faithful are invited to celebrate the feast of St. Katharine Drexel on her feast day Friday, March 3 at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul and Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel.
The Cathedral Basilica will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. for visits and prayer at the Tomb of St. Katharine.
There will be a 7:15 a.m. Mass in the Cathedral Chapel. The principal celebration will take place in the basilica at the 12:05 p.m. Mass. Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda, Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, will be the principal celebrant and homilist.
On Aug. 2, 2018, Saint Katharine’s remains were translated from the Motherhouse of the Community she founded, the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, to the Cathedral Basilica.
The Cathedral is located at 18th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
