Michael J. McArdle has been named interim school president of Roman Catholic High School by Archbishop Nelson Pérez, according to a June 26 announcement from the archdiocesan Office for Catholic Education. The appointment became effective June 26.
McArdle assumes the role of interim school president following the announcement earlier this month that Father Joseph Bongard (’77), Rector of Roman Catholic High School, was appointed Parochial Administrator of Saint Helena Parish in Blue Bell and Parochial Administrator of Saint Titus Parish in Norristown.
The announcement described him as being “a vital resource both as a coach and mentor to Administrators throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s secondary schools.”
McArdle has over four decades of experience in Catholic Education. He previously served as Principal at Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown from 2015-2021. Following his time at Bishop Shanahan he joined the Office of Catholic Education’s central office as an Interim Assistant Superintendent.
Most recently, McArdle served at Little Flower High School for Girls in Philadelphia as Dean of Students.
