On June 6, Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez presided at Solemn Evening Prayer at The Chapel of Saint Martin of Tours at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in thanksgiving for the ministry of Most Reverend Timothy C. Senior to the people of the Church in Philadelphia in advance of his departure to lead the faithful of the Diocese of Harrisburg as their 12th bishop. Following Mass, friends and family gathered for an open reception in the seminary’s Eakins Room.
On Tuesday, April 25th Pope Francis named Bishop Senior as the 12th Bishop of the Diocese of Harrisburg. Founded in 1868, the Diocese of Harrisburg is home to over 200,000 Catholics from 15 counties in central Pennsylvania. He will be installed as the bishop of that diocese on Wednesday, June 21st by Archbishop Pérez within the celebration of the Holy Mass at Saint Patrick Cathedral in Harrisburg. (Photos: Sarah Webb)
