Kelly Ann Urban, M.S. CCC/SLP has been named Special Education Supervisor for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Secondary Schools by Archbishop Nelson Pérez, according to a September 14 announcement from the Office for Catholic Education.
In this role, Urban will collaborate with the Superintendent of Secondary Schools and Schools of Special Education to lead the execution of the strategic goals for special education while managing the full continuum of those services in the 15 Archdiocesan high schools.
Urban brings over a decade of experience in special education to her new role. A certified Speech Language Pathologist, she most recently served as the Director of Speech Language Pathology at Talk School in Delaware County.
Prior to that role, she held several Speech Language Pathologist positions in the Upper Perkiomen School District, at Lifeworks Schools, and with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.
Urban holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Master of Science Degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Marywood University.
In addition, she has earned several certifications including Pennsylvania State Licensed Speech Language Pathologist, Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and a Pennsylvania Level II Teaching Certification Speech & Language Impaired Pre-K-12.
