St. Charles Borromeo Seminary has released its 2025-2026 annual report, highlighting its mission of priestly, diaconal, and theological formation and the support sustaining its ministry.
The seminary reported 140 seminarians enrolled during the 2025-2026 academic year, including 72 men preparing for priesthood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Twenty men were ordained to the priesthood in 2026, including eight for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, which marked the archdiocese’s largest ordination class in 23 years.
The School of Diaconal Formation had 35 men in formation during the academic year, while 65 students were enrolled in the School of Theological Studies.
Financially, annual fundraising accounted for 43% of the seminary’s operating budget during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026. Tuition, room and board accounted for 42%, with other sources providing the remaining 15%.
The seminary reported 14,011 donors, including 600 new donors and 13,411 returning donors. The average gift was $196, and 133 donors made monthly recurring gifts.
Fundraising included $2.75 million in major gifts, $1.24 million in estate and planned giving, $3.52 million through the annual appeal, $555,440 in events revenue, and $213,928 in miscellaneous contributions. More than $1.24 million of those funds were designated for the St. Charles Seminary Endowment.
The annual report also highlighted the support of parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia through the seminary’s annual Speaker Weekends each November. During the 2025 Speaker Weekends, more than $600,000 was given to support the seminary’s mission.
In a message from the rector included in the report, Father Christopher Redcay expressed gratitude for the prayers, encouragement, and financial support that make the seminary’s work possible.
“Each day, our students deepen their love for Christ and His people through prayer, study, and serving in various apostolates,” Father Redcay said. He added that the seminary’s formation helps prepare students “to serve with fidelity and compassion.”
“Your partnership strengthens this mission and supports the future of the Church,” he said.
