Sister Margaret Richard Farrant SSJ, age 89, died October 15, 2023, at Chestnut Hill Hospital.

The daughter of the late Richard A. and Margaret (Monney) Farrant, she attended St. Anne Grade School and Hallahan High School.

In September 1951 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1959.

Sister Margaret ministered in the Dioceses of Allentown and Philadelphia.

Sister of the late Richard, James, Margaret and Marie, she is survived by many loving nephews, nieces and their extended family, as well as members of her congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 23 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Joseph Villa. Services will also be live streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website, www.stjosephvilla.org.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, PA 19031.
