Sister Maria Raphaela Patrone, SSJ
Sister Maria Raphaela Patrone SSJ, formerly Florence Catherine Patrone, age 86, died January 11, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late Ralph and Philomena (nee Nesi) Patrone, she attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Sacred Heart High School in Vineland, NJ.
In September 1955 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1963.
Sister Maria ministered in the Dioceses of Camden, Newark, Philadelphia and Washington, DC.
The sister of the late Maryann Borden and Rosemarie Belmont, she is survived by her brother, Ralph Patrone, Jr., nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 beginning at 10:30 am. Services will be live-streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave., Flourtown, Pa 19031.
