Archbishop Pérez sent the following letter to the Asian Catholic Community Feb. 16 on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Together with the people of the Catholic Church in Philadelphia, I send warm greetings and prayerful best wishes to the Asian Catholic Community who recently ushered in the Lunar New Year.

On this joyous occasion marking the Year of the Dragon, it is a moment to praise God in thanksgiving for the great gift and rich heritage of the Asian communities in Philadelphia and throughout the Universal Church.

The Dragon is a symbol of strength and ambition. As Missionary Disciples, may we embody those qualities as we seek to bring the light and love of Christ to all those around us!

May God abundantly bless you!
