“Today, while in Rome for meetings of The Papal Foundation, I had the opportunity to visit the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy which has been training priests for service to the Universal Church through its Apostolic Nunciatures, in countries around the world. These trained diplomats and Apostolic Nuncios represent the Holy Father and the Holy See around the world.

Archbishop Salvatore Pennacchio, President and Msgr. Gabriel Viola, Prefect of Studies were most gracious in sharing with me the great work of the “Accademia.” They were so excited to welcome Pope Leo to celebrate 325 years of service to the Church.
