Reverend George W. Crowe, Retired, Resident, Saint Joseph Villa, Flourtown, died on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.
Father Crowe was born on January 9, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late George F. Crowe and the late Margaret Gradel. Father Crowe attended Saint Ambrose Parochial School, Philadelphia, and La Salle College High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
Father Crowe was ordained on May 22, 1965, at The Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul, Philadelphia by Most Reverend John J. Krol. Father Crowe served as Parochial Vicar, Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Strafford; Holy Saviour Parish, Linwood; Holy Martyrs Parish, Oreland; Saint Martin of Tours Parish, Philadelphia; Queen of the Universe Parish, Levittown; Saint Pius X Parish, Broomall; Saint Ann Parish, Phoenixville; Saint Clement Parish, Philadelphia; Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Philadelphia; and Stella Maris Parish, Philadelphia. He retired from active ministry in 2005.
The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint Joseph Villa, Flourtown, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 9:30 AM followed by a viewing. Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez will celebrate the Funeral Mass for Father Crowe at Saint Joseph Villa Flourtown, on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 10:30 AM. Reverend Monsignor Paul Kennedy will be the homilist.
Father Crowe is survived by his sister, Margaret Crowe Smith; niece, Margaret Holt (Stephen); nephew, George Smith (Danielle); and two great-nieces. Interment will be at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, Pennsylvania.
