Sister Jane Day, SSJ
Sister Jane Day, SSJ, (formerly Sister Assisium), age 96, died December 8, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa.
The daughter of the late Edmund and Eleanor (Gallagher) Day, she attended Holy Child Grade School and Little Flower High School.
In September 1946 she entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph, Chestnut Hill, and professed her final vows in 1954.
Sister Jane ministered in the dioceses of Allentown, Arlington, Baltimore, Camden,- Philadelphia and Trenton.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Edmund, Francis, Hugh, Charles, Anthony, Sister Eleanor Day SSJ, and Eleanor Day McGowan. She is survived by nieces, nephews and members of her Congregation, the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Visitation by relatives and friends will begin at 9:30 am on Monday, January 6, 2024, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Services will be live-streamed from the Saint Joseph Villa website www.stjosephvilla.org.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sister’s name to Saint Joseph Villa, 110 W. Wissahickon Ave, Flourtown, Pa 19031.
